Andri and Martina excited about popsicles!

Hive fives all around, in fact, to the entire team. Fabienne finished 17 th, Nico was 51 st (and almost made it around before Absalon got him!), and our race support team of Dani, Rene and Andri get an A+! And I can’t forget all the folks out there on the course who cheered me on, especially my aunt Silvia and uncle Walter! I am, however, disappointed in the individual who promised me pizza at the top of the climb. There was no pizza to be found.

I’m happy with my ride. I climbed that 2.5-kilometre hill (all 271 vertical metres of it) five times and held on for dear life down the clattering descents. Martina and I were back and forth, motivating one another and I really enjoyed the view of the surrounding mountains. This place is so beautiful! Don’t worry, I didn’t actually look at the view during the race – I took care of that during the pre-ride and kept my eyes focused on the competition while the stopwatch was running.

My fabulous Hutchinson Piranhas gave me super traction on the steep climbs and minimal rolling resistance on the hard-packed sections and my Felt RXC Pro is just fun all around.

And I’m proud to report that I’m currently 5 th in the overall standings! From now on, I’m getting those top 10 finshes. I can’t wait for Winterthur this weekend and I’m especially looking forward to Hasliberg on May 7, as my parents, Silvia, Walter, my fans from downstairs, Sonya and my uncle Sepp will all be there. Everyone’s invited! The more the merrier! Just make sure that if you promise me pizza, you deliver! Otherwise I’ll be very upset.
