What a great race! I secured third place overall in the Giant BC Cup Series, plus I finished fourth in a group that contained some heavy competition, including two-time National Cyclocross Champion Wendy Simms.

I had a front-row call-up at the start, which was cool, but I didn't clip in very quickly, and ended up chasing the top four right away. The course was very cool, with some slick mud (fun!), quite a bit of gradual climbing (great for me!) and some fast, technical descents (even better for me)! For the first half of the race, I was battling back and forth for fifth place with Jaymie until I managed to get away from her. Then I battled with Jenny, who is more powerful and better at the barriers than I am. However, I passed her on the last lap on a flat, rough section right before a technical downhill and gapped her. Then a spectator told me I was closing in on Christy. I knew I didn't have much time to catch her before the end of the race, so I put the hammer down, and went by her. I felt awesome and very satisfied with my aggressive, strong race. Now I'm ready for the National Championships on November 11!
