I was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and I now live in the ‘burbs. I earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Non-Fiction Writing and a minor in Professional Writing from the University of Victoria in 2003.
As a freelance writer, I have contributed to numerous publications, like Pedal Magazine, Bicycle Trade Canada, The Martlet, Pushbikes.ca, SkiTrax, and IMPACT Magazine. I also have considerable experience in writing for the web and regularly write content for www.localride.ca. Much of my work for www.pedalmag.com and www.skitrax.com is content editing with occasional feature articles.
I have expanded my professional writing offerings to include contract services in the form of marketing, media releases, newsletter writing and design, web content, and social media.
My main passion is the pursuit of a career in professional cycling. I have represented Canada as a member of the Canadian Team on many occasions, including at the UCI World XC Mountain Bike Championships in 1998, 2002, 2003, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Besides writing and cycling, I enjoy photography, cooking, travelling, downhill skiing, hiking, and being outdoors in general. I also have considerable experience in teaching and coaching cycling, including bicycle safety and mountain biking camps for children, basic bike maintenance clinics, women’s only cycling courses, and private mountain biking lessons.
